You may already know that the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association has a centre in Chilworth. Staff there are once again looking for local volunteer boarders willing to care for and provide temporary homes for trainee guide dogs.
Things are different this time from previous appeals. For a roughly six-month period, a dog would be collected from your home on weekday mornings, and delivered back to your home the same evening. You may already know that the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association has a centre in Chilworth. Staff there are currently on the lookout for those who would be prepared to be ‘committed volunteers’ willing to care and temporary homes for trainee guide dogs.
For a ten-week period, a volunteer would need to be able to drop the dog at the centre on weekday mornings, and pick it up again at the end of the working day. The dog would stay with the volunteer over the weekends. Continue reading
