Many thanks to all those who turned out to support live music at the Hall on Saturday evening. Everyone seemed to have a great time listening to the Salisbury Big Band’s repertoire of hits from the Glenn Miller era. The excellent 17-piece band was supported by Ellen-Marie, a singer whose range stretched all the way from the Andrews Sisters to Eartha Kitt via Dame Vera Lynn. Continue reading

For the benefit of residents concerned about the recent uptick in local petty crime Cllr Finlay has arranged for the police to visit us to give their current views and advice. Many thanks to all those who entered into the spirit of this event, you helped us to raise almost £1500 for the Hall’s refurbishment which is obviously a very welcome boost to the fund. Commiserations to those whose bids were pipped at the post: we hope you’re not too disappointed.
The “latest bids” page has been updated. We’ll allow daytime Sunday for checks and protests, and the final results will be announced at the Moviola on Sunday evening. Several winning bids are from anonymous bidders. Winners will receive confirmations by e-mail, along with a note about arrangements for payment and collection of bids.
Thanks again to all the bidders, and special thanks to those whose generous donations made the whole thing possible.

The former Saints captain, who made nearly 300 appearances for the club now plays for West Ham, but he’ll always get a warm welcome back at St Mary’s. Continue reading
