This one is for children in Test Valley aged four to eleven, who are invited to take part in a competition to design a picture which will be made into an Anniversary Card in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee which is being celebrated in June 2022. Parish Council vacancy
A vacancy has arisen on Chilworth Parish Council. An election will be held if ten or more residents request that there be one, otherwise the Returning Officer at TVBC will authorise the position to be filled by co-option. For more details see the notice which has been posted in the usual places, the PDF version of which may be seen here.
Residents wishing to put themselves forward as potential parish councillors should advise Donna Jones, the clerk to the council by e-mail, and consider giving notice in writing to the Returning Officer as detailed in the notice.

‘Smart’ M3 Upgrade
Work to improve journeys by upgrading the M3 motorway is planned to start later this year. We’ll be installing narrow lanes in both directions between junction 9 at Winchester and junction 14 at Eastleigh, and the hard shoulder will be used as a running lane. This will provide a safe working area in the central reservation, whilst keeping three lanes open during the daytime.
To get the hard shoulder ready for this, preparation work continues under daytime hard shoulder closures, overnight lane closures with some planned carriageway and/or slip road closures. All traffic management for full overnight carriageway and/or slip road closures will usually be rolled out from 9pm and taken off by 6am.
