We all hope for a safe and healthy holiday period, but just in case our luck runs out it would be as well to be aware of the alternative to the notoriously pressurised A&E. Open every day of the year from morning through the evening, the Minor Injuries Unit at the Royal South Hants could be your first port of call for anything short of a serious medical emergency. There was a recent leaflet drop in Chilworth recently, but for those who may have mislaid their copy, here’s a PDF version. Let’s hope you never need it!
The previous rumour, reported on 9th November, was clearly just that, a rumour. Having put the question direct to Shell, we’ve just received an official reply to the effect that the garage on the Chilworth roundabout will re-open on 22nd December. That will be handy during the Christmas & New Year holiday period!
On Thursday, 7th December from 6-8pm the University Science Park presents Cocktails & Conversation – an Evening with Shirin Dehgan. After graduating, Shirin worked for a blue-chip company before turning entrepreneur and building Arieso, which she subsequently sold for £85M.
A winner of multiple awards, including European Entrepreneur of the Year 2013, Shirin is also an inspirational speaker. If that’s not enough for you, there will also be an expert cocktail demonstration by the Bombay Sapphire Distillery. Tickets are just £15, to include a welcome cocktail, canapes, evening drinks and a donation to Cancer Research UK. Continue reading
