Well over 100 people attended a Wine & Cheese party on Sunday, 13th to celebrate the re-opening of Chilworth Hall after the completion of its first phase of refurbishments. Entertainment was provided by a troupe of talented young dancers from the SJ Academy of Dance, and by an on-stage display of dog training by Armchair Dogs of Chandler’s Ford. Several clubs and societies that use the hall regularly took the opportunity to pitch their activities.
Commemorative plaques were presented. Leader of Hampshire County Council, Roy Perry, also sits on the Hampshire Steering Group of Viridor Credits which distributes monies from the Landfill Communities Fund to community projects throughout the UK. Cllr Perry presented a plaque to mark the generous donation from Viridor Credits to Chilworth Hall. Cllr Alison Finlay was also present on behalf of two other major donors: Test Valley Borough Council, on behalf of which she also presented a plaque, and Chilworth Parish Council.
The formalities were completed with a presentation of the Trustees’ plans for the second phase of refurbishment, which is planned for the summer of 2016.
