Thursday 4th November – TVBC Thermal Imaging Workshop (Online Only)
“Would you like to reduce your heating bills this winter? A thermal-imaging camera is an amazing device as it can detect the temperature of everything. It’s able to show us where heat is escaping from our homes and our buildings. Often the camera reveals that heat is leaking out through draughty windows or badly-fitting doors, or through a roof without enough insulation. By tackling these problems, you can achieve significant savings on your winter heating bills.
See how to use a thermal imaging camera yourself at this online workshop. You will find out how to use the camera and how to survey your home or community building.”
To book a place visit our Free Thermal Imaging Workshop page on Eventbrite. This event is for town and village parish councils, and local residents.

Our volunteers will continue to get the collection ready for you to visit and we can’t wait to be able to welcome you through the gates once again!

Sat 13th Nov – Beaulieu: Friends of The National Motor Museum Trust Lecture
Have plane, will travel – Colin Hales The aircraft in question is homebuilt, designed and built in various garages and sheds around the country, and the journey is one of extremes, a journey around the world, taking the aircraft and its pilot, our speaker, Colin Hales, to places no plane like this has ever been to before. What is so special about this aircraft? Well, its size for one thing, so small it would fit inside many family homes. And the journey, travelling further distances than any similar-sized aircraft has travelled before and breaking down international boundaries that have stood since cold war days. So how was it done? How do you build your own plane, plan such a journey then fly around the world? Come along and see for yourself … It’s a work in progress. The evening will begin at 7.30 pm in the Lecture Theatre of the Collections Centre, National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. A bar will be available for the purchase of beers, wines, soft drinks and tea and coffee. The evenings will conclude at around 10.00 pm. Tickets are £10.00 each for non-members; £7.50 for members. For further information and to purchase tickets please contact Theresa Browning on 01590 614792 or email
