Wednesday 13th  April Winchester – Science Centre & Planetarium Lecture Series

Small Bodies of the Solar System.  2015 was a momentous year for the study of dwarf planets. The Dawn mission arrived at Ceres in the asteroid belt followed by the first fly-past of Pluto by the New Horizons space probe in July. We shall discuss the smaller bodies of the Solar System – from dwarf planets to asteroids, and what the new missions revealed. Evening lectures on the second Wednesday’s of the Month at 4.30pm and 6.30pm, each follow by a short Planetarium Show about the month’s sky.


Thursday 14th April Salisbury – Museum of Army Aviation Event

Chris Munns, Museum of Army Flying CEO, Royal Navy Commodore and Submariner takes the stage for the second instalment of his submarine lecture series. In this lecture, Chris explores the world of World War 2 Royal Navy Submarines – looking at the evolution of the boats whilst focusing on some of the amazing stories of the brave men who manned them. Tickets are £10 A glass of wine/soft drink is included in the ticket price.  Lecture starts 7pm. Doors open 6.30pm. Pre-Lecture Supper: Our Apache Café team will be serving supper at 6pm before each lecture. Tuesday 26th April Southampton – Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) Solent local network Event ****

Lifeskills – Back to basics with presenting. Presentations are the best way of communicating ideas and information to a group as they allow immediate interaction between all participants.  However they can be one of the most daunting tasks we undertake. This workshop gives an overview of the key steps needed in order to conduct an effective professional presentation. 17:30  Refreshments, 18:00  Start 21:00  Finish Southampton University, The Hartley Suite, Building 38, Highfield Campus.
