Chilworth Hall has always been managed by a committee of volunteers. Since the current team set out to turn around its fortunes the overall utilisation of the Hall has increased by 127%. Some of this is down to the updating of the facilities on offer. There’s also been overspill from Chilworth Manor, where The Club seems to have been going in the opposite direction in recent years. These days Chilworth Hall offers a lot more opportunities for socialising and recreation. Most of the Yoga or Pilates groups have provided information for this webpage. Several others may not have been aware of the offer of free publicity. Imminent changes to the page will ensure that it includes the contact details of all the many other clubs and societies that use the Hall, including a Rock Choir, Tango or Ballroom or Folk dancing groups, an Art Group, an Alpine Gardening Society, a Canal Society, the Inner Wheel and Dog/Puppy Training. There’s now also a thriving branch of the Women’s Institute as well as the rural cinema with monthly Moviola showings. In the meantime, if you would like more information then simply e-mail the Hall’s chairman. If you represent a club or society that would like to start using the Hall then contact the bookings secretary, Donna Jones (0333 577 8864) – there are still a few gaps to fill.
